5 out of 5 stars A RELIABLE, QUALITY PRODUCT FOR FINE DETAIL SOLDERING   July 26, 2008

I have been using this torch in my business for fine silver soldering for many years. Tried several others, but this is the best--and now they have improved the adjustment system for better flame control. I just bought 2 new ones to add to the 3 older ones that are still working after YEARS of use.

I have owned a Blazer Micro Torch for at least four (4) years. My original torch was damaged while unprotected in my tool pouch recently. I know I could have had my old one repaired, but I chose to replace it.
Since I brought it to work to solder lugs onto 10 gauge wire, one of my co-workers was impressed and since I told him I was going to get one for the company and one for me, he asked that I get him one too.

The micro torch has its place. It definitely works great for heating up the solder lugs and for soldering in remote areas (no electricity). I have even heated shrink tube, however you have to be careful not to apply the flame to the shrink tubing or the insulation on any wires.

I like that I can also control the intensity of the flame. Hey, if I didn't like the first one I bought, I certainly would not have purchased another one.

I have used many similar torches in the service and repair of boats, this torch is the best that I have used to date. Very good quality, ease of operation and great performance.

I recently started making jewelry in my spare time and this microtorch was the missing link that I needed to melt precious metals.

To be honest I use this most often to light candles. Oh, I have used it to solder and any number of typical applications. And this instrument RULES! It's flat out cool. It is a "James Bond" sort of thing. Which brings me back to "Father's Day" or Dad's or your husband's birthday - Get this! Buy it NOW! This Blazer Torch is great looking and a killer tool.

At any rate, I've owned 2 of these. The first one was with me for 15 years. The second is in my hand. Own one. The Blazer Torch is a good thing.
