I bought this to check for image sharpness in slides and negatives, hoping to be able to see more than I can with my 10x Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet loupe. This didn't disappoint. I can see all the way down to the grain (dye clouds) on Fuji Velvia 50 film. I was able to verify camera shake blurring in one image that I couldn't see at 10x, even though I knew the blurring was there.
The image quality is perfect, very sharp. I see no chromatic aberration or fuzziness, not even on the edges, and no vignetting.
I took away one star because the depth of field is pretty thin, and the focus in microscope mode isn't quite as precise as I'd like. Also, the eye relief is pretty short. While wearing glasses, the image circle is pretty small, so if that bothers you, just take off your glasses while you're using this.
So, it isn't 100% perfect. But I challenge anyone to find something better for the price.
